  •  I'm going with my gut on this one, and by my gut (0+ / 0-)

I don't mean intuition.  My answer is no.

People who kill other people because of the color of their skin is about hatred, anger and fear.  Killing another human being with malice is just plain wrong.  Adding another mental illness to the DSM simply legitimizes those actions and hands a juicy defense to slimy defense lawyers who would defend anyone who hates to that depth.  "It's OK I kilt that black, or brown, or yellow or orange or purple person b/c I'm sick in the head."  No, no, and no.

Even if a black, brown or person of other color were to kill another human being due to their racism (which isn't totally unheard of because ultimately we are talking about human beings), then try to claim mental illness if such an illness were added to the DSM - I would still hold my position that killing someone because of the color of their skin is wrong.

Too many in our society are already unwilling to take responsibility for their actions, I say let's not give the rotten eggs a lifeline to save their murderous butts from being prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
