  •  Surprised to see you here this morn! (26+ / 0-)

Glad for the space though. On top of everything yesterday, I got a call from my daughter to pick her up early from school--one of her classmates died after a long illness. She didn't know her well because the girl hasn't been in school much but she was shook by the loss and by the sadness around her. I can't quit thinking about this girl and her family who went through the process of high school applications and summer school, all the while hoping for a future for their child. It just magnifies and plays off the tragedy in Connecticut for me, having a face to put to the loss, thinking about all those children who deserved a future and all those families grieving. I alternate between sadness, anger, and feeling damn lucky but uncomfortable in that. And at 11:30, I'm still in my PJs. Jeers to this shitty day.

Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. --Mark Twain
