    a mixed bag and would have to be watched.  on the other hand he knows most of the world leaders personally, knows how to deal with them, and would not undercut Democratic control of the Senate.  In New Mexico he did some not so good things, but also a lot of good things, such as making sure we had a paper trail for votes and did not depend on electronic records.  We got rid of the death penalty in the state under his leadership and generally did fairly well, considering.

    Yes, he is an old style wheeler dealer, but we certainly could do worse.

      Bill Richardson is also a bona fide expert on North Korea. I also have a huge soft spot for New Mexico generally and the sort of culture of the 3rd Congressional district specifically, which he represented, and remember both his tenure in congress and his governorship as a time of progress for the state.  We could do worse.  Anyway, even if the rumors I'd heard were true, he was certainly never some Dominique Strauss Kahn.
