misconceptions. I've actually become far more negative about guns since joining Daily Kos. I know very few gun owners in real life and most of them are fairly moderate people who support some reasonable restrictions. This my first exposure to more radical gun owners and I have to say that I'm am entirely appalled.

Since joining I've seen members of RKBA call mentally ill people "defective", something I will never forget, as well as advocate limiting the right to the free expression of religion. They strike me as angry and obsessive.

I always thought that the reason there is a right to bear arms in the constitution was to limit the possibility of tyranny or a foreign invasion. Probably with today's technology it's a bit of an anachronism, but I don't see that as a reason change the constitution.

Beyond that, it is my belief that the government can regulate guns, but just because it can doesn't mean that it should.

However when I read the comments of members of RKBA I feel like I've fallen through the looking glass where there is one thing, and one thing only that matters and that's guns. Not people, not justice, not love, just guns. It's a weird world and they make me despair every time I read them. What's happening in Michigan is an abuse of power which could be described as tyrranical, and the members of RKBA have no interest in that. Democracy can go to hell as long as no one touches their guns.
