belittles or contradicts your experiences in any way.  I was not trying to trivialize what happened to you.  I realize several people responded to you comment (including me) in a way that was adversarial rather than supportive.  Each of us carries our own experiences differently and because it is so emotional, we all react to different things in a different way.  We should all respect each others cross that we each bear.

The last thing you should do, though, is "shut up".   I promise that I will try to be more respectful to your set of circumstances and hopefully you will realize that even if you say something that generates a "shit storm", it is better for everyone involved to get it out there.  I have sat in many PTSD meetings were people fought themselves and others with there efforts to "Get it all out in the open" and it is never a good thing to keep it supressed.

Often, we feel as if we are the only people in the world who know what it feels like to go through the horrific events in our lives.  Unfortunately, there are too many of us who know exactly what you and I have gone through.  I say unfortunate because it is terrible that others have had to experience these things but the reality is, it is good that we know that we are not alone and that it does get better.

When dealing with the emotional trauma that this diary brings up, nerves can be raw and tempers can fly but this community is filled with caring, compassionate people and it is a safe place.  Even if tempers flare and feelings get hurt, we all need to stick together and respect each of our differences.  I will try to do better.
