  •   When I played football........................ (5+ / 0-)

in high school we were taught that if someone pushes, punches or takes a swing at you it is best NOT to retaliate.  First, punching a helmet, facemask or padding hurts your fist worse than it hurts the aggressor. Second,  the Stripes are likely to have missed the first action but will always flag you for the retaliation.

I know it is hard to do and it is easy for me to say here warm and safe in front of my PC monitor; but left wing protestors MUST follow Dr. King's example of non-violent resistance. Any attempts at retaliation or to fight back will always be fodder for Faux News to be repeated ad nauseum both there in the mainstream media.

Protest, video, record but don't retaliate; it is playing into their hands.

    •  I don't really agree (6+ / 0-)

I mean, I don't think beating up Fox news people is helpful or good in general, but I have to admit that I think it sends a real "fuck you" to the right in a language they understand.  Fascists build and grow through the use of violence and hitting back can be important, if only to remind them that we can.

The revolution will not be televised. But it will be blogged, a lot. Probably more so than is necessary.

Replay might not get your penalty rescinded, but the league does go and fine people after the fact, because the video shows the whole story.

I suspect the same will happen here.

Conservatives need to realize that their Silent Moral Majority is neither silent, nor moral, nor a majority.
