  •  the guns were bought by the mother (0+ / 0-)

Gun control would not have helped stop this massacre. As long as adults buy guns that their kids can use there is no  stopping them.
Probably should require a mental health evaluation with every gun sales.

    •  xrighty: this shooter's not a child. Police (1+ / 0-)

have variously identified the killer as either 24-year-old Ryan Lanza or his 20-year-old brother Adam.  Either way, the killer was the son of a teacher who worked at the school where the shootings occurred.

That son was also an adult, legally.

Police have also said the Lanzas' mother was found dead at the school -- and at her home, which she shared with one of her sons.

Police have also said another of Lanza's brothers was found dead, and that Lanza's father was found dead at a home in New Jersey -- but then retracted the story about the father.

Now what we're hearing is that a private home in New Jersey is a crime scene related to the school shooting, and no further details are available at this time.

    •  Right. It's never about access to guns. (1+ / 0-)

Those innocent .223 assault rifles are never at fault. It's always the imperfect human instrument employing them.

There's nothing we can do to stop such catastrophes? Bullshit. We can outlaw these evil devices.

Personally, I'm all for the Second Amendment being accurately interpreted as the founding fathers clearly intended: every adult property owning white male can own a muzzle-loading single shot musket. Now there's some originalism for you.

You don't get to keep democracy unless you fight for it.
