  •  I've waffled through the years (17+ / 0-)

When it's come to gun control laws I've usually tended to defer to less is OK.  I don't own a gun, I have but there's no reason to so they're gone.  I know decent responsible people who own them but in a passive sense, i.e. they don't define their existence, they're in a safe or otherwise inaccessible.  My father, who was a liberal, believed that there was a right to own guns for recreational purposes.

Today we have a subculture of sociopaths whose very existence is defined by their rabid obsession with ownership of guns.  These are the anti-government whackjobs who have taken over so many seats in state legislatures and Congress.  They see no bounds on gun ownership, where they can be carried or how they can be used.  They do it to intimidate the rest of us; in defiance of an imaginary threat from a Muslim, Kenyan Socialist and the majority who elected him.

The NRA is in reality a hate group, a threat to the safety of every law abiding American of all ages and all colors and all walks of life.  No civilized society should allow itself to be bullied by the likes of Wayne LaPierre and his band of accessories to murder.  It's time for change.  My days of waffling are over.
