You know, I remember my first day of kindergarten.  After the morning hours, I was led away from the main class room and into an after school room.  I hadn't been informed of this and in my young mind, I didn't know how my family would find me again.  They didn't know about the room either or the afternoon part of class.  So at one point, I finally put my head down on the desk and started quietly crying.  I don't know how long it was for but it felt like an eternity.  I just remember my joy and relief when my dad came to pick me up, tapping me on the shoulder.  It's one of those life events that you don't forget and remains etched in your memory.

In comparison to what these kindergarteners suffered today, I cannot imagine what they are going through or how much this will impact them.

I actually teared up today over this (and that's a rarity for me).
