wow. yeah, tell that to the imf, the world bank, and pretty much every economist who understands the concept.

    •  Mexico doesn't lack people or industry (0+ / 0-)

      or development.
It may lack honest government and it certainly lacks financial acuity.
But the imf, the world bank, and pretty much every economist who understands the concept contribute heavily to the further dominance of Wall Street banksters, so I have no respect for their opinions or their dealings. They're just richer crooks in prettier clothes.

What infrastructure? Their roads and bridges? Their seaports?
Their airports? Their factories? Their farms? Or their churches and libraries and universities and schools?

Their health care system? People go there for treatment and prescriptions from the US because of how much more affordable care is in Mexico.

Their law enforcement agencies? Their national parks?

Poverty is not limited to Mexico.

Look at the Appalachians, or the inner cities right here in the USA.

No. The notion that we must conform to the IMF's definitions of "development" is wrong, because under those definitions the US too is a 3d-world country (heading further that direction every day) in terms of services to its populace, its ability to maintain roads, bridges, and enforce its laws (because CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING!).

I understand the concept just fine. I live in Texas. There are things of far more worth than corporate sponsorships and money in the world.

believe what you want. yes, mexico is a developed nation, and every international agency and every educated economist just doesn't understand.
