  •  Brown won't go back to the Senate (9+ / 0-)

He just wont. As long as we field a strong local candidate. I love Elizabeth Warren but she was polarizing! She had a hard up-hill climb to introduce herself to Massachusetts voters and she succeeded. Brown showed his ugly side to a voting public that had not seen it before. He's no shoe-in if he decides to run again.

Here's what I said in an earlier thread:

I don't fear a Brown re-election. You have to remember that Brown won the special election against a weak candidate who ran one of the lamest campaigns in recent Mass history. Coakley has many detractors, too. She wasn't well suited to running for National office.

Warren may have been a National figure and a hero to many on the left, but she was not known locally. Her views are polarizing. She also was not a natural politician. Also working against her was the perceived feeling by many that she was "not from around here." You can live your entire adult life in Massachusetts but, if you were not raised here, you are still a transplant. She had to sell local voters on her Massachusetts cred, as well as her ideas and political instincts. She managed to beat local-boy Brown by 8 points, a healthy margin.

Give Massachusetts voters someone they can trust, who they know, someone like Markey or Capuano, and we will continue to have two Democrats representing us in the Senate.

    Just my thoughts.

who doesn't want to wear the ribbon?!?
