    But it certainly sounds plausible to me.  There is just so much that is totally off the track in this country today.  The mass killings are a part of the greater trends.

      There are two points I'd like you to consider.

      First, this subject has been studied to death.  Hundreds of psychological and sociological research projects have been done.  The end result is that there is no clear evidence that playing violent video games causes the people who play them to be more likely to commit acts of violence.

      Second, violent video games are just as popular in the rest of the developed world as they are in the US.  But you don't see the kind of gun violence we have in the US in any other developed country.

      The truth is, I would argue that violent video games, if anything, reduce violence by providing an outlet for frustration.  You'd be amazed at how soothing causing virtual mayhem can be.
