    Just think of solar power as an average over a year. Seattle gets roughly 71 days of clear sunny days a year. If every house/building were powered with solar power that means we could basically turn off the coal plants 71 out of the 365 days in a year.

    Obviously it's not THAT simple or even a full solution. But 294 days of coal power usage is dramatically better than 365.
