    Sorry if this turns out to be a duplicate.  I think income inequality is an important component and needs, like mental health, to be addressed.  What would be your starting point on the gun side of the issue?

    Cats are better than therapy, and I'm a therapist.

      low hanging fruit for now. Maybe lots of free mental health care which actually includes more than just drugs would have a spin off benefit of lots of jobs. Might increase quality of life for people with mental health problems too.

      Some sort of self restraint by the media would help too. Today we have copy cat threats. Every person with lots of troubles and a lot of anger will now be wondering how to top this one. My wife and kids who don't follow the news are unaffected, if the commercial news business would tone it down it would cost nothing and just might help.

      Statistically gun homicide keeps decreasing according to all the info I can find. I think it's just that these things are so spectacular that they grab everyone's attention.
