  •  I was thinking the sound of breaking glass (4+ / 0-)

    would be psychologically unnerving.  If I had time (a minute or two) there would be some nasty stuff in the stoppered flasks, too.  Interesting. Physics verses psychology verses chemistry.  A science room definitely has more possibilities for weapons than other classrooms.  I'll think about it.

    I worry about other areas in the school like the library.

      at the shooter's head could hit him, put him off balance, stun him, knock a weapon out of his hand etc.
      One point I remember from the Active Shooter training we did at our University was - if you are in the situation where someone has overpowered the Shooter, kick the gun away, do NOT pick it up. That is an easy way to get killed by the police when they come.

        done with a gun if it could get knocked away.  He said, "If you can manage to immobilize the creep and get the gun away, put the trash can over it, and sit on the trash can until the police come. Tell them the gun is under the can."
