Feinstein might as well write a ban on street drugs while she's at it.

Who is fooling themselves buying into the idea that making some weapons illegal will
    a) make them vanish
    b) stop senseless massacres

this will never pass, since people are dumb.

but the truth is that most weapons used in mass shootings were acquired legally.

PEople do actually study these things. stats and charts. As experts. They are likely not fools, either.

      •  While I understand the data (0+ / 0-)

I also know we are not the same fundamental society as Australia.

To imply the same exact results would follow implementation of bans and laws here as Australia has ignores a wide variety of other societal factors.

...recognizing its defects and having to extrapolate for the increase in the number of guns etc. But to say only fools is to deny that social scientists and statisticians have something to teach us about changing society through legislation....and I believe with have a 'pro-science reality which believes in the value of stats community' here....and Australia is one source of stats which people use a a point of comparison with caveats etc....

Those on the gun control side should be able to speak in terms of facts and figures even if they are not perfectly similar...
