  •  Thank you for the reminder of who we are. (6+ / 0-)

We are a community.  Sometimes, we show the best of who we are, and other times.....we show the other side!

For all of us, I think, the hurt and the anger are so very raw.  We all need to slow down a step or two and think before we write.

There are valuable insights on both sides of the issues.  I've read several, including one I had missed before today, even though it was written on Friday.

I backed out of a few threads, because I was unsure of all the backstory involved, and didn't feel I should comment.  In others, I simply beat a hasty retreat, like a scared chicken.

Sadly, I did make one comment that I regret.  Not because I didn't mean it, but because I didn't take the time to explain it better.  I should've reached for balance, and I didn't.  For that, I am sorry.

Your diary, Melanie, is a timely reminder that in times of stress and hurt and anger, we do need to treat each other decently.  Simple human decency can resolve more than all the shouting, all the hyperbole, all the name calling in the world.  Thank you for saying so as gently as you did.

We cannot call ourselves a civilised society if we refuse to protect the weakest among us.

I always enjoy the generosity of your comments in Cheers & Jeers, even though we are rarely "in the room" at the same time. I don't doubt your gracious spirit. Depending on the comment you made and to whom, and how it was received, it might be worth sending a private kosmail to explain your intent. Of course, sometimes, it is better to leave well enough alone, too.
