How about only allowing guns that were around in when the 2nd Amendment was penned? What year was it? 1787? No kids would have died on Friday. MAYBE one of the adults that went after him (if it was a lucky shot), but no kids. A skilled gunman would take at least 15 seconds to load, right?

if you showed them the massive array of modern very lethal "arms" and asked them if this is what they had in mind with the Second Amendment. I would guess that they would be horrifed and would admit that this was not what they had in mind.

when they said "bear arms", they didn't mean tiny pistols hidden in peoples armpits.

in his early drafts, because he also specified that conscientious objectors were not to be required to join the militia.

          If it's
          Not your body,
          Then it's
          Not your choice
          And it's
          None of your damn business!
