    It was an interfaith vigil organized by clergy.   I expected everyone to mention their faiths.  I didn't see any "jamming religion down everyone's throats."  Not from the president and not from the   clergy  who were of different religions , yet who they held hands on stage and showed incredible respect for one another, with the initial speaker acknowledging non-believers who might also be part of the community.   I thought it was actually a wonderful example of how people in this country of different religions  (or no religion) should relate to one another with tolerance, respect, and caring.  The angry  and intolerant tone of your post runs counter to that example.

    I vote Democratic because I am a woman with self-respect , who rejects bigotry of all kinds, subscribes to science, believes in universal health care, embraces unions, and endorses smart internationalist foreign policy. Twitter: @HawaiiDelilah
