    Thanks for post.

    Spraying people with bullets is a sanitized, unrealized, distant method of killing others. The meaner the machine, the more people die.

    Sad to say:
    Knife, baseball bat, judo? Death by the hand of another? There is a closeness to taking a life in such a manner- a method much more intimate. The action is more difficult, limited in scope, and hopefully more consequential to the offender.

    I said something along these lines before- but I strongly believe it.

      pissed me off.

      His argument was we don't try to ban baseball bats, knives, and cars when they're used improperly.

      The argument is weak because bats, cars, and most knives have thousands of other purposes besides killing things.

      Unfortunately, I was too busy to write my own LTE. I'm sure someone else will make the point.
