these kinds of sick videos were out there, but there are plenty.

No wonder this man in CT went on a rampage - he probably grew up watching this kind of stuff on the internet - part of a community of other kids online who think this is funny.

The average person isn't aware of the increasing level of destructive activities gun nuts engage in unless it comes to our own home town.  I had no idea these idiots could buy these kinds of explosives on the internet, nor that they're routinely used for entertainment.

Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.

and through the woods from me does this kind of insanity. They have an arsenal of dozens of guns including a .50 cal automatic. Every weekend they blow through better than a grand worth of ammunition and occasionally they "detonate" a car. Sounds like a war zone here, the shooting is less than a quarter mile from me and there are lots of houses closer to them. It goes on for hours. Really nerve wracking.
And what really scares me is that there's a considerable amount of alcohol involved.

If I ran this circus, things would be DIFFERENT!

I also think that that should be in no way possible for an average person to simply replicate, and require months of background checking.

    •  I just read a 1970 autobiographical essay about (0+ / 0-)

the author participating with a group of drugged out young guys doing exactly the same thing in a semi rural community (they had neighbors) until they blew the front off their rental house with dynamite. They were so stoned on hash they thought it was set far away; instead it was about 20 feet.
They also had a dozen or so guns & did shooting from their porch as a way of passing time. They were unemployed or underemployed & had time 'to kill.' I didn't realize that phrase could be so literal.

I was a kid then, in a totally different community, so I found this chilling.
It was happening then, still happens now.
That's a level of crazy I don't want to understand. Guns aren't toys; there are too many around & are too embedded in the drug & alcohol culture; there's another link with mental health services! And unemployment for young men seems particularly lethal.

Different times, same fantasies, same dangers.

Something that doesn't make good sense, makes bad sense. That means someone is being deliberately hurtful & selfish. Look for motives behind actions & words.
