    How I wish the coming reform would be as solid and strong as what you are proposing.  We will have to press and argue and "act up" hard and long, to get even half of that.

      Shotguns, rifles, revolvers or other low capacity ( standard 10 found magazine for an automatic isn't unreasonable) firearm. Special permitting to own an automatic ( since there are a fair amount of collectors items in that category.) or antique firearm. No high capacity anything, no assault rifles or submachine guns. Police might need a high capacity automatic handgun, but honestly a revolver should be good enough for any citizen. Taxes, fees and permits should discourage most people from trying to an automatic, especially if they cannot pass stringent checks.

      I would support restrictions on gun ownership with any history of violence, such as domestic violence, or misdemeanors.
