    ...... asking Senator Inouye - while he was serving on that famous Senate Watergate committee - how he pronounced his last name?

       Cavett then pointed out that Inouye's committee chairman - the colorful Sam Ervin of North Carolina - pronounced his name more like "Senator Norway".
