  •  Besides the ridiculous implications (17+ / 0-)

of arming a lone security guard or a teacher, with a pistol to combat someone with an assault rifle. There is another issue. Who wants their child to go to a school where every teacher had a loaded weapon in their desk drawer? I sure would not want my little girl in such an environment. The very idea is madness.

apparently David Gregory, the Obamas, and many other celebrities and politicians like to have themselves surrounded by men with guns and their children to be in schools with armed guards as quite a number of them hire armed bodyguards as well as send their children to schools with armed guards.

David Gregory's children go to the same school as the Obama girls, and they have their own armed guards that were in place before the additional Secret Service agents that are now there because of the girls.

Has anyone made the argument to them that the presence of all those people with guns does nothing to increase their safety and may actually make them less safe in the event of an attack because those armed guards may shoot erratically and injure them with "friendly fire?"

I sort of think that none of them would remove the guards from the schools or fire or disarm their bodyguards after hearing that argument
