  •  The interpretation of 2nd Amendment is the (6+ / 0-)

    problem. That amendment became anachronistic when the nation formed military branches. Even then, the Amendment includes the phrase "well regulated".

    As large a problem is how long we'd have to wait for SCOTUS to change that interpretation, while thousands die.

    •  Yes. We lived without a personal 2nd amendment (4+ / 0-)

      right for over 200 years until the Roberts court found something new in that old document in 2008.

      Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.

      ....included a provision that exempted conscientious objectors from serving in a militia. This shows the authors were thinking about militia service, not individual weapon possession.
