    grainy as you increase the ISO which is why I always shoot at 100 unless I absolutely can't get enough light. You can compensate for poor light by increasing your aperture size and/or slowing down your shutter speed, only up to a point of course but a bit of experimenting will show you how far you can go.  I take an awful lot of pics in the woods and most days I can keep the 100 setting by doing one or both or those two things mentioned. If I have no other choice I will raise the ISO but that's my last resort. I've never even tried shooting at anything above 400 as the pic quality already starts breaking down some at that point.
