A person who wanted to kill 20 children all at once can't do that with cocaine, heroin, or marijuana.

The shooter could have had access to cocaine, heroin and marijuana and all he would have done is kill himself or in the case of marijuana, chill out for a long time.

I am just trying to bring a focus to the discussion.  IMO the issue is the availability of certain types of guns, unless we keep our focus on this issue, another Newtown will happen.

As you can see from my sig line, I would be willing to give up my "right to bear arms" if it would save one more person from being killed by a gun.  However, I know that mine is a minority view and we must deal with reality.  We must deal with the first issue first:  How do we limit the availability of guns so that we can minimize the chance for another Newtown?

Arguments about C/T's, video games, violent movies and the sad state of mental healthcare should not distract us from the first issue: the availability of guns in our country.

If I had my way, I would repeal the 2nd Amendment. Since I can't have my way, I support a ban on all assault weapons. Now!

      I agree, but...

What we're BOTH talking about are struggles that will take generations.

There's no quick fix coming on either front and blamin society is frankly a cop out.

Lies and the lying liars that spread them with impunity in an environment practically design to resist fact checking are on the other hand tangible.

I'm on board with your fight, our fight, but think the issue I've highlighted is as important in the long run, for our safety.

      That's just my opinion.
