  •  I adore Paul Krugman (2+ / 0-)

I adore his ideology but let's remember that he's free to spout that ideology without consequence.  He holds no power, no position in government, has no seat at the table, doesn't even seem to want one.  He is not in those back rooms facing the numbers, hearing the shouting, the accusations, facing the caustic personalities involved, the impossible choices that will ALL have blow back.

I appreciate that he can see there is a possibility that none of what is being proposed will ever see action and that the final compromise may look entirely different.  All I know is that the man we have leading this is ethical, has a life of supporting the downtrodden, a track record of amazing success against terrible odds and has kept us from falling off into a horrific economic abyss over the last 4 years.   I'm withholding judgment.

Be honest - in the first paragraph you begin by trying to nullify Krugman's qualifications to speak his expert opinion on this deal - starting with a kiss of death, "I adore Paul Krugman"

You then go on to extoll the virtues of President Obama and and strongly hint that due to his reputation, no one - including Krugman - should criticize any deal he might be making.

You are not withholding judgment by any means. Your oar is in the water, you have a direction and you have cast judgement.
