... been trying to get to the school for the first 15 minutes of the crisis.  I lived a few minutes from that school for over 5 years.  I don't think I ever drove past the Newtown PD when there was more than 2 police cars in their parking lot.  It was the same thing with the Southbury and Woodbury PDs (the next towns over) rarely were there "extra" patrol cars just sitting around.

The whole area is best compared to Mayberry (except most of the citizens are mega affluent) - and you will likely find the area's finest spread out in the area directing traffic around construction zones to protect the linemen and road workers from danger than handing out speeding tickets or patrolling a "beat".  Please give them a break - this area isn't even remotely similar to New York or even Danbury or Waterbury (the two nearest big towns to Newtown).  I'm sure they were doing their best to get there, and I am sure there are any number of communities in the US where the response times would be similar.

I haven't been here long enough to be considered a Kossack, does that mean that I'm just a sack?
