  •  What the President is doing (9+ / 0-)

    Fucking up the negotiation.

    •  Well then lets keep applying pressure to Reid and (0+ / 0-)

the Democrats to again say no.  At least Reid and Durbin aren't down for the Chained CPI portion.  Pelosi on the other hand, that's someone everyone right now should be pressuring out of this deal.  I'm down for going over the cliff.

            then, as well?

Or do you give them a pass?

Your plan to put pressure on members of Congress is not aided by diaries such as this one.

            •  Actually I'm not really on either the "we're so (1+ / 0-)

fucked!" side or the "everyone chill the fuck out" side.  If you look at my profile, I recced both his diary and the diary in the Recommend section earlier today that said Obama cutting Social Security that got a lot of attention.  In fact, I called both my Senators, Feinstein and Boxer, immediately after reading it and told them to not vote for this.  i also called my home state Senator Bob Casey and left a message on his voice mail.  I even called Harry Reid's office and they assured me he's still not for cuts to Social Security (taking this with a grain of salt here).  But I think Reid knows that SS cuts are political suicide.  I even called Durbin and Warner's offices, even though I'm not a resident of either of their states.  I also called Jeanne Shaheen, Bernie Sanders, Tom Harkin and Jay Rockefeller's offices thanking them for standing strong and leading against cuts to the safety.  I also called Mark Begich's office to thank him for proposing a bold plan to strengthen Social Security and asked his office what I can do to help promote it.  They told me to urge my Senator to support, which I am doing.  i even posted a diary today urging everyone to do so.  you can check it out here:

Wish that was on the rec list because it could motivate more people here to take action before screaming "THE DEMOCRATS ARE GOING TO SELL US DOWN THE RIVER!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!"
