Dreams of my Father, he talks a lot about his experiences as a community organizer and how frustratingly hard it was to get people to agree to anything. It's clear to me that he learned some important lessons, but they are the wrong lessons for the President of the United States.

He shouldn't be talking to Boehner at all. He should be talking to any other Republican who is either a still a moderate or else represents a district that voted for him in November and being asserting some pressure on those people about how badly it's going to hurt them to oppose tax relief for working Americans. Or he could just do nothing at all. However, the last thing he should do is to just Social Security and/or Medicare as a bargaining chip. That's a lose/lose for him and for working class and middle class Americans.

A working man robs a bank and it's a federal manhunt. A banker robs a working man and gets a bailout.
