The Dems are going to lose and lose badly with Obama spending every last bit of his electoral landslide political capital on the crappiest deal in negotiation history, then being on the defense for the next two years.

    •  Yep. I ain't voting. Period. I'm not into self- (4+ / 0-)

flagellation anymore. Give me a goddamned party that cares for the poor, working poor and those just a little better off than that, 'cause this income inequality is so way out of hand, that it is stupid to keep trying to paint the house with votes while in a flood of deceit from those who swear to work for all of the people (unless you don't have anything, of course).

Now I'm not so sure anymore. Even just paying close attention takes lots of energy and time. And what does it ultimately matter if we are forever sold further and further down the river no matter whom we elect?

Sorry to be so negative. I've got bronchitis and no health insurance; makes me more annoyed than usual.

        •  Starting to disagree with that (0+ / 0-)

George Carlin was right... If you don't vote then you've got every right to complain about the shit that elected politicians do, simply because YOU DIDN'T VOTE FOR THEM.

Carlin was being utterly snarky, but there has always been this wisdom that one's vote always makes a difference. Kick out that leg of support and the rest crumbles pretty quickly, and that includes the idea that if you don't vote you don't get to complain.

        •  I won't. Complaining doesn't work for those in (0+ / 0-)

Washington, D.C. I voted twice for this liar and after 67 years, I finally learned two things:

          1. All politicians are crooks
          2. Voting is a lesson in insanity because of #1

Dems will be lucky to hold on to the Senate in 2014.  There won't be another Dem House until the second midterm of the next Republican president.  And, maybe not even then, unless we are in the middle of another unpopular war, or the economy is again crashing like that movie "2012".

Obama won a landslide.  Far more people voted for House Dems than for House Republicans.  The Dems picked up 7 lousy seats.  The country is structurally hostile to there ever being another Dem House.
