    so stupid.

But feel free to have your discussion somewhere that is 100% anti-Obama, since that clearly isn't Daily Kos.

You've had a great influence for good through this blog. Maybe it's time for you to take a step back, at least temporarily, and review what you've done recently, and whether it was well done. It certainly seems to me that you've been one of the foremost progressive apologists for the President throughout his Presidency. You have helped to strengthen him among progressives, and you must see that what he is doing now is something you have enabled.

    •  Well "kos" is fast becoming (0+ / 0-)

100% anti-Obama and it's due to YOUR "leadership".
Not saying you don't have strong points or I don't agree with some.

What I am saying is that there is a huge Obama coalition out there and we are just a portion.  I'd much rather make our fact based criticisms and expand our support within in the coalition.  Just savaging the president, marginalizes us and puts us squarely in the "not to be trusted in the foxholes" category.

Listen.  What we have is a fluid situation and we CAN use our voices to influence the outcome.  But jeez, just read the comments and too many are hyperbolic , drenched in negativity/cynicism.  I just don't see how this route is effective.

that Obama is generating on this site is self-inflicted.

We're not going to pretend it's kosher for anyone to fuck with Social Security, and particularly not a Democratic president.

If you don't like that, then tough shit.

Fact is, when Obama does this, he OBJECTIVELY hurts his standing with the voters. It's not our fault he continues to repeat the mistakes of the past.

      •  When have we ever been trusted? (0+ / 0-)

Name one time where anyone came to us for policy advice and then accepted and implemented said advice. Hint: they have NEVER trusted us.

        Savaging the president? Really?

The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile.

        -Teddy Roosevelt

So you're saying we shouldn't "savage the president" from our own side of the aisle because it makes us look bad? Enjoy your servility, I won't be be joining you in it.
    •   No way did kos give 'unwavering' support. (0+ / 0-)

He called for an immediate end to Afghanistan in 2010.

He rightly called out Obama campaign summer before last for being all deficit all the time, and for a while they got back on jobs. I really appreciated that.

There are many other examples where he has been critical of the Obama and his administration.

To be fair, he did  ban  a buttload of people shortly before the election who did not deserve it, people who merely commented that they were voting third party because they were unable to continue to support Obama for some of same bullshit we are continuing to see today.  They were not 'advocating' for a third party.....

This did hurt his credibility, but he has let some back in so I will forgive him as well.

I welcome this post and the one yesterday.  For a while there it seemed that he had abandoned his personal leadership of a movement for improving our party to totally focusing on entrepreneurship and becoming Nate II. Couldn't fault him for that, just was disappointed it seemed to be working out that way.

Glad to see this post meshelf.
