Look, I've been reading Kos for YEARS.
    Probably more than 10.
Not that I have to like, prove something to your satisfaction.

    •  One would think in ten yours you would have (4+ / 0-)

an opinion of the community, an opinion you could use as a basis for your decision whether to purchase a subscription.

Instead, you look only at Sandy Hook diaries from the last six days to make that decision.

No one is basing this on stats alone, it just seems stupid to me. Either you like Kos or not.

And the idea that anyone here wants to solve the problem of video games BEFORE and instead of figuring out how to minimize mass killing is really fucking insulting.

My advice: don't subscribe, and don't write stupid diaries.

      Donuts gladly accepted.

        But not you.
Again, I am not suggesting banning video games.
I am suggesting that gamers hurt feelings are inconsequential.

        •  I don't get this diary, or your point. (0+ / 0-)

So, gamers shouldn't respond to attacks or critiques of their favorite media?

Look, we all have our pet issues.  we all approach politics and issues from different angles.  Myself, I'm fairly neutral on the 'gun' issue.

Attacking a perspective doesn't make it go away.  If people want to critique criticisms of videogames as a scapegoat, let them.  Maybe it's how they feel involved in the whole debate.  Who knows.

Scapegoat sorts of ideas are popular because it can provide an explanation for something complex that is simple, understandable by anyone, and pretty easy to fix.  Theories like that presented on mainstream media outlets are only viewed as ridiculous as long as someone is around to address them.  If you give up, it can easily become 'accepted common wisdom'.

Anyone who has read DKos from the beginning is surely aware that Red Hot Pokers don't really belong here.
