  •  Gotta admit... (14+ / 0-)

... back in the... late '60s, I think..., someone I knew had white flocked Xmas trees every year - the thick ones with teh long needles - and she used pink lights and pink shiny/glittery balls, and in the half light it was quite enchanting.  I did like that one.

The white tree above... if it didn't have odd butterflies that look like dried apples, or something else revolting, could have been rather attractive.

    •  Funny, I don't remember you ever coming to my (8+ / 0-)

house when I was growing up.  I swear to the FSM, my mom had a big, fake puffy white flocked tree for our upstairs that she decorated with shiny hot pink balls.  ("Shiny hot pink balls!"  That sounds quite naughty as I write that...ahem).

We always had a real tree downstairs with all the family ornaments.  That was for Christmas presents.  The white and pink phantasmagoria upstairs was for decorative purposes only.  Mom even found hot pink Santas to decorate the walls with, too.  Quite a spectacle.

      Metaphors be with you.
