  •  Growing up in NYC we never had thundersnow (6+ / 0-)

    So the first time I experienced it, after I moved to DC, I was sort of taken aback by it. Apparently it's relatively common there but not further up the coast. At least it wasn't up to 25 years ago. Maybe it's getting more common elsewhere now because of climate change. Where's weatherdude when we need him? I'm sure he could explain why it happens more frequently some places than others.

    Nowadays of course I don't see snow falling at all. We were promised a bit one evening last winter but it failed to materialize. Last measurable snowfall in San Francisco: 1976.
