    it would seem, is that Social Security should be the last thing, or almost the last thing, that should be put on the negotiating table in order to address the "fiscal cliff."

    They also, apparently, think -- in overwhelming numbers -- that tax cuts for the wealthy should be the first thing that is put forward as a means of addressing the fiscal cliff.

    But President Obama's definition of "rich" has jumped from above $250,000 to above $400,000 -- a number that is no longer even within eyeshot of ordinary Americans' experience -- and Social Security "reform" seems to be among the first things that he is willing to capitulate on.

    So... please. If you're going to assert that the desire to preserve Social Security is some kind of wacko leftie socialamalist conceit, at least have the good sense to apply a snark tag.
