Ever MET in person an Afghan who LIVED full time in the country since 2005?  How about one who lived there BEFORE we showed up and has lived there since?

They moved to Pakistan, then India to escape the violence, later to U.S. However, knowing an Afghan national is not necessary to know that killing is wrong (even if - perhaps - sometimes needful) and indiscriminate killing is unconscionable.

you didn't expect to encounter someone who actually knows Afghan nationals and then when you did, you lost the argument.

moved from Afghanistan to Pakistan to India and then the US.  While possible it is HIGHLY unlikely that someone would do that.  Its not like moving from New York to Penn and then Ohio.  You dont just "move" to Pakistan unless you are the right kind of Afghan and if you are the right kind of Afghan they are not going to let you in India.  And if somehow you managed to check all of those boxes there is no way in hell you would get a visa to move to the US.

is if all that movement happened before 1992.  I can think of a small number of people who made that journey then.  But I asked about CURRENT Afghans - post 2005.

accusing the commenter of being a liar, why don't you tell us about the people who you know and tell us how they and their neighbors or other Afghans and Pakistanis feel about the killing by drones?

We do have a lot of first-hand accounts from recent studies published by two universities and we have many interviews of locals and local officials from journalists in the region. Plus there are several organizations doing their best to track the drone assassinations and information about the same.  So even though the Obama administration still calls this a classified program, for legal reasons so that they can hide information about the extrajudicial killings from courts, some of the admin officials do talk about it in public, and the president has too.  In the infamous NYT article, three dozen govt. officials spoke to the journalist about it.
