left to get those unis out of RW radio would help expose the influence. it would be students and faculty and staff against whatever governing elements wanted to stand up for the kochs.

that fight needs to happen because under the radar they get a lot done to privatize those unis and undermine ed in general. the politicization that's happening is taken in stride while the local radio blowhards get instructions on which regents and presidents are acceptable and which might be too liberal. and too often they do the job while the left has no idea.

opoly of our media...they actively go after NPR and PBS funding in an attempt to eliminate even that weak voice of truth.

      •  that was another success for team limbaugh (0+ / 0-)

demonizing PBS and NPR in the late 80s and 90s as part of a more general attack on the 'liberal media', just like they sold electronic voting as a way to save money.

        •  You're right...everything to the left of the (0+ / 0-)

radical fringe RW is considered "liberal" to these folks.

Again, anything that helps non-conservatives they go after - NPR, PBS, Acorn, planned parenthood...they want the middle and working classes on their own without any factual reporting or education for the next generations - and a government too constrained to provide for the most vulnerable among us.

Who could possibly have that kind of attitude and beliefs in America in the 21st century - and be considered patriotic?

          •  50 mil a week hear that is true patriotism and (0+ / 0-)

it doesn't take that big a percentage of them to believe it to be formed into mad-to-order constituencies to enable their corrupt pols. the same may happen once more re gun control.

and most of the believers believe it because no one challenges it within that closed captive monopoly domain where there are no free alternatives for politics while driving and working.

if it's OK on a 1000 radio stations and no one gets in their face in real time it must be OK.

      •  Bob - in the fourth paragraph under the orange (0+ / 0-)

thing, where you are naming legislators, you list as a GOP Majority leader Tom Daschle. Daschle was a Democratic Senator from South Dakota who served from 1987 to 2004, as Majority Leader from 2002-2003, and Minority Leader from 2003-2004.

        •  I'm aware of naming Daschle...he was not a member (0+ / 0-)

of ALEC but he worked closely with several of them and even introduced some of their legislation - and lobbied on behalf of it.  We have four or five other Dem's who held key seats and voted their way on key legislation.

That's why I listed him under "alumni or supporter"...
