  •  Tannenbaum or ever green is really a song (3+ / 0-)

about inconstant love.  The unfaithful lover is compared to the "ever" green as a symbol of constancy.  "vie treu sind diene blettern." (excuse mis spellings) "as true or constant as your leaves."

Another verse compares the flowers that bloom and wither to the bach im Tal, the brook that flows constantly.

There is not much beyond the Jesus himself that the Christian bureaucracy hasn't bastardized to their own use.

Christian symbols are largely pagan, which is why getting all steamed up about taking Christ our of Christmas is a bunch of baloney since Christ wasn't born on the solstice.

Both the faith and the reality of solstice celebrate the turning of the sun and/or coming of the son.

Why can't we just relax and enjoy both with out the fundies being such damned grinches.

Bill O, the personification Grumpy Cat aka Tard, aka Tartar Sauce.

Tard is cute grumpy. BillO is mean grumpy. I'd rather have a visit from Tard than BillO!

Thank your stars you're not that way/Turn your back and walk away/Don't even pause and ask them why/Turn around and say 'goodbye'/Just wish them well.....
