    Past behavior predicts future behavior.  Unfortunately, we've seen time after time when President Obama has negotiated with the GOP hostage takers.  

    So yes, it could be part of a grand chess match that we hope shows Obama as someone who is willing to compromise to make the GOP look even more barbaric.  However, I don't like seeing him use my parent's lifeline as a bargaining chip.  What if they said yes?  

    Then it is up to Sen Reid to put an end to this silliness.  Reid said no.  I hope he is the one Dem we can count on.

      My SS raise was $16. However, I began receiving SS 7 years ago. My initial monthly check was $779. In Jan it will be $929. That's $150/mo raise in 7 years. Or $1,800/yr. And that's with 2 years when we received no raise. I don't think I received raises that high when I worked. Pretty sad, huh? I'm not happy about the chained CPI, but I remain hopeful it isn't going to happen, both for personal and political reasons.
