  •  Abusive people have to posit the objects of (1+ / 0-)

their abuse as evil and deserving of punishment. Otherwise, their punitive inclinations and abusive behavior would have to be considered as evil itself.
The culture of obedience is perverse. It presents obedience as a good, without admitting this is true only if the obedience is not coerced. Otherwise, obedience, since it entails the subservience of any organism, constitutes the very essence of abuse.
In the U.S. we feed our pets to gain their compliance. But, there is no free lunch for other humans. People are expected to be subservient first. When our moral expectations are so reversed, they are perverse.
Starving people to make them obedient is surely perverse. Why do we permit it? I suspect it is largely because behind the veil of money, we hardly notice this is what is going on.

Indirection. That's the ticket. God and mammon. Both can play the punitive middleman in the mind of man.

Is it possible that the binary mind does not perceive the triangular connection that is characteristic of indirection because there is no awareness of the self?

We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.
