but once everyone gets up it picks up.

Daughter will be in this afternoon.  She wanted me to teach her how to fry chicken cause she always botches it.  I have agreed, but I'm not into any fried food and especially southern deep fried chicken.  (Although I did make it every few months when my husband was alive).  Since she wants to learn, I will teach her.  Tomorrow is a beef roast and then Monday she wants me to teach her how to make chicken and dumplings.

They leave on Tuesday, but I will have the traditional collards and hoppin' john  (although I prepare mine as blackeyed peas, chopped tomatoes over rice) ready before they leave.

are happy, we got another good soaking last night, but the duck bowl was upside down so I don't know how much it rained. the other day it was close to 1 1/2".
we need it. the reservoir is down more than 4'.
I can see the difference from the recent rain fall.

up here today and like you guys, we need every bit we can get too.

It's that time of the year that the birds congregate near my back yard for their "open 24 hours" feeders.  I dunno if we are just getting more birds every winter or if they've just spread the word about my backyard, but I have to fill certain feeders every other day and the others every 3rd day!  I go shopping at the commissary and my basket gets filled up with just dog food and bird seed alone ;-)
