    aspect of this that I don't think I've seen mentioned is this: whether or not torture works (it doesn't) and whether or not it should be used either way (it shouldn't) from what I've read about the movie, it seems to suggest that torture was used to get bin Laden specifically.

    Is that even remotely true?

    I recall that it was used to link 9/11 with Iraq and that there were some tortured false confessions so that we could go to war with Iraq. But I don't recall ever hearing that the torture program was used to find bin Laden (Bush actually said repeatedly he was no longer concerned about bin Laden.)

    So that's weird.
