    they actually put a damper on the union movement.

    Go to AFL-CIO website and try to find anything, anything about current organizing campaigns.

    It was on the issue of organizing that the Change to Win was formed and the affiliated unions left the AFL-CIO, but even they are not doing that much.

    Perhaps we need to begin to build alternatives.

      In reality it's a lot more complicated...so much so that I can't even explain it fully even if I felt comfortable doing so.

          Here is the home page of CtW, at least it looks like a Union federation home page. At least there is organizing going on, even tho I think there should be more. http://www.changetowin.org/

          Here is the AFL-CIO, is this even a union website?

          This is exactly the reason that so many new groups are forming outside of the traditional labor movement, such as Jobs with Justice, and rank and file organizations. This is where the hope of putting the movement back in labor movement lies.

          Worker Centers are also growing. The labor movement will never die, but the AFL-CIO is in danger of fading away if it doesn't figure out how to get back in fight. It needs to get out of the begging business. The union movement has never been about begging.
