  •  Hey they've disconnected the 3rd rail (17+ / 0-)

This is just the first cut.  They're going after Medicare next.  You cannot trust them period.

The sad, sad, thing here is that what this does is validate the Republican Party's argument that you cannot trust government.  Why let yourself be taxed for 40 years when they will default on the promise they made you?  Right?  So you really are a fool to pay that payroll tax since they are not going to keep their promises.

    •  Wait. So you're saying Medicare will be cut (1+ / 0-)

even though Obama hasn't said that yet?  wtf?

Actually, I agree with you.  (Tried for a little sarcasm, but it's not funny, so I failed.)

day...When you do hear the phrase 'Medicare cuts,' do not go into immediate panic mode. And I say this as someone who lives and dies--quite literally--on Medicare. There is still a lot of lobbyist-induced, Congress-abetted fat that NEEDS to go. For example, all of the 'durable goods' providers are VASTLY overpaid. [Anything you see advertised on TV that is Medicare-reimbursable is an example.] And the way Big Pharma rigged the game under Bush. And Medicare Advantage. And how primary care visits should get more; procedures, less.

There are a lot of REFORMS that need to be made to save BILLIONS. But lobbyists with millions/billions/gazillions at stake  will turn these complex issues into political tennis balls and inflame the debate into: 'Obama axemurdering grandma!' You can bank on it.

So far under Obama, we beneficiaries have netted MORE Medicare benefits. Those are facts.

Ho'oponopono. To make things right; restore harmony; heal.

Medicare age to 67 next year at a minimum.  Eventually both SS and Medicare ages will probably be raised to 70 though.

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
