  •  What a day. Took LuvLee in to the vet for an (7+ / 0-)

unplanned but needed blood sugar check. After doing so well at the beginning of the week, a couple days ago she started to lose her appetite and even had a little vomiting. So I was quite worried.

Turns out, her blood sugar shows that she's going into remission for diabetes! After giving them for only 13 days, I can stop giving her the insulin injections. We'll check her sugar again on Wedns. and see where we go from there.

That's the good news. The bad news is, she's a little hypoglycemic, which is probably why her appetite was so off. As advised by the vet, I put a little dab of honey on her mouth several times this afternoon, so she could lick it off and get some replacement sugar in her system. That worked well and by 7 this evening she started chowing down on her canned food. I was quite relieved!

The irony of all of this is, this whole week I've been fighting off a stomach flu, and I could really relate to LuvLee's symptoms! Especially the no-appetite part. Fortunately I seem to have gotten over it and today I was able to have a real supper (instead of just crackers and tea) and not be upset by it.

So LuvLee & are both tuckered out by the events of the day. She's curled up sleeping in her little kitty bed, and I'm sort of dozing off at the computer. We both need an early bedtime!

Oh, there was one other irony out of this: For some reason LuvLee got a lot more sympathy from people about her tummy troubles than I ever got for mine. I wonder how that could be!
