  •  Now does everyone feel a little silly? (15+ / 0-)

By which I mean those who were screaming and howling "Obama sold us out!" and whatnot?

He knew what he was doing. He knows the DWOL has no control over his caucus and no ability to pass anything. Now he has all the leverage in the debate and the DWOL has effectively had his balls cut off.

I'm trying not to be smug and say "I told you so," but damn, it's hard.

And that is from somebody who has been appalled by the pile on the President bs around here the past few days.

I think O got lucky, and I just hope he has his own Plan B to pull off and maximize on the disarray on the R side.

My fear is that they are So Crazy in the house that we will go off the curb with NO TAX BREAK for the middle class.

and on Jan 2nd the dems file legislation to cut taxes for 98% of Americans.....teabaggers might not voter "for" but there will be republicans that due so and there are 7 more dem votes.

the other thing that will  happen is O and dems will remind voters that the sequester was a plan the GOP came up with.

this is a lose-lose for the GOP, even more so if Cantor becomes Speaker.

mittens=edsel. no matter how much money is spent to promote it, if the product sucks, no one will buy it.

        •  Yeah, pretty much. (0+ / 0-)

No tax cut for the middle class, and daily commercials blaming the resulting recession on Obama and the Democrats until the '14 midterms is about a 90% chance.

What scares me, is i give 50%-50% odds they'll allow a default.

So nothing passes.  Jan. 1 arrives, the insane GOP House refuses to deal on any level.  And the waiting game begins.

      Who blinks first?

Mr. Here-Take-My-SS-Cut or a collection of fucking lunatics who have already once before threatened the country's credit rating?

Obama never met leverage he was willing to use.  Why will he now?  He's a sane ands responsbible person who will give the GOP 98 percent again to avoid default.

You know the GOP will play that 'game' again and you can't defeat someone who simply doesn't care about losing.

Thing like this keep happening to him.

Or maybe he knows the game very, very well and knows how to manipulate his opponents.

This post is dedicated to myself, without whom, I'd be somebody else. Though I'd still be an asshole. My Music: [http://www.myspace.com/beetwasher]

I think the man is smarter than most and has always known what he was doing. he learned in his 1st term and if GOP was not going to accept the Grand Bargain there was no way they were going to accept anything from O this time.

Much wailing and gnashing of teeth for naught in my estimation.
