  •  Psst.... once it's signed, it's a done deal. (10+ / 0-)

No chance to speak out against it, contact our representatives.  We just have to live with the tragic consequences.

Until then, we should assume that trial balloons are just that, and not freak out until Obama signs anything.
    •  so are you contacting your Rep (0+ / 0-)

NOW?  While you can have some influence?

Are you organizing a demonstration at a Repub rep's office?

Are you calling and demanding they continue unemployment insurance and increase food support?

Are you working to keep the Obama tax cuts in place?

Have you ever done anything but whine?

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... *I'm asking you to believe in yours.* Barack Obama

      •  I have one Rep, two Senators, and one (0+ / 0-)

president and I've contacted all of them several times, yes.

Are you working to keep the Obama tax cuts in place?
You mispoke.  It's the Bush tax cuts that Obama and Democrats extended.
Are you organizing a demonstration at a Repub rep's office?
Nope, all my reps are Democrats.

And at this point, the republicans aren't the problem, it's the Democrats who are willing to cut SS benefits.  I am a member of the Democratic Party, have been my whole life.  I have some power over what my party does.

Have you ever done anything but whine?
Have you ever done anything but personally attack people who don't want to trash the New Deal?

And is that all you can do is ask questions and make accusations to deflect speaking about the issues and policies at hand?
