highly unlikely but the more I found on our Maud (the SISTER), the more I think it was more true than false! But... about HER!

She married Melvin (a Canadian from New Brunswick) and they had three kids in Missoula. Theyre there in the 1900 US Census and he's a Saloon Keeper. Then they moved to small mining town, Granite MT in 1903 or 04, according to a City Directory. Then... Melvin turns up dead in 1909, he's buried in Missoula. The 1910 Census... yeesh, I cant find Maud or two of the three kids, but the middle boy stayed in Granite! At age 12, he's a "Boarder"...

The daughter shows up years later in Lansing MI which is, interestingly enough, where Uncle George lived. This child was the same age as cousin Doris' mother (George's daughter). Wonder if they knew each other??

It gets complicated and Im still slowly investigating it, but dayum! lol I tracked down the kids somewhat but no trace of Maud after the husband died, and no telling what name she went by, especially if she re-married. Maybe she did take off for Alaska after that!? I have all kinds of theories, but I'll probably never know.  Could make a great novel though, I agree!
